Some suggestions on how to use Clary Sage during labour:
- Put 2 drops on a tissue or flannel and inhale.
- Massage 2 drops to acupressure points during contractions: Inner ankle, 4 finger spaces from the centre of the ankle bone, up the inside of the leg, and the centre of soles of the feet, one-third from base of the toes.
- Put 2 drops on a tissue or cotton ball and put under pillow or close by.
- Add 2 drops of clary sage essential oil to a teaspoon of base oil (such as olive, almond, sesame, coconut or grape seed oil). Massage gently around the belly, hips, pelvis and lower back, feet and palms.
- Blend other essential oils with clary sage oil for massage such as like rose, neroli and lavender, or citrus oils like lime, mandarin or orange for uplifting energy when fatigue hits.
