Hi. I’m Virginia!
< That’s me! 😊
Thanks for visiting my page. Here is a summary of my adult life…
BC (Before Children)…
I worked in various vocations such as in horticulture / gardening, bar tending, nannying and skateboard coaching, in between travelling the world (including to the USA, India, Central and South America). And then I discovered natural health and birth work, and since then nothing has given me such fulfillment as being in service for women in these fields.
Work Life…
I have been a herbalist since 2000, a nutritionist and a doula since 2006, a childbirth educator since 2010, and a photographer since 2014.
“If you love what you do, then you never need to work a day in your life.”
This quote sums me up and explains why I will never stop learning and upskilling about my passions which I can then offer my clients for a more holistic approach to their bodies and babies.
To help improve the births of my clients, I’ve taken 7 Spinning Babies® Workshops and an Optimal Maternal Positioning workshop, to help create balance and space in the pregnant and labouring mum’s body to maximise the chance for babies to get into a good position for birth. I’m also a Mizan therapist (abdominal massage for fertility and pregnancy), Holistic Pelvic Care practitioner (intravaginal trigger point release) and Birth Healing Specialist (pelvic adjustments and ligament release) which can help women during pregnancy, labour / birth and postpartum.
But I also dig working with and alongside men as they are an integral part of our lives and the birthing team. I have been the presenter for Beer & Bubs in Sydney since 2010. Beer and Bubs is a one-night workshop at the pub where dads-to-be can learn how to support their partner through the birth of their baby. It is held in Glebe every month, and a session is included in my doula package for my doula client partners.
Personal Life…
My husband Dan and I have 2 healthy boys who are 15 and 12yo, both conceived after undertaking a natural preconception health program. I enjoyed very healthy pregnancies, and gave birth to them both naturally at home. Jetsun and Keanu continue to inspire me to help other couples enjoy the same benefits that a good natural health programme has given to our family!
I am both parts earth(l)y and spiritual, but never take myself or life too seriously. I enjoy a whole foods plant based diet, and love skateboarding, bodyboarding, gardening, dancing and seeing live music (I am in my element seeing bands like Tool or Queens Of The Stone Age!). In 2023 I completed both the Angel Messenger Level 1 and Level 2 courses with Angel Medium Shunanda Scott, so that I can increase my intuition and divine communication, which I hope will also help those I work with. ✨😇✨
Volunteering…
I am a Lifetime Member of Homebirth NSW [HBNSW], after volunteering for various roles within the organisation for 11 years of service. I am now volunteering for Homebirth Australia, and love helping to organise their annual conferences. Oh, I also volunteer for Doula Network Australia.
